South Carolina Leads the SEC
on 2009 SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - A total of 883 student-athletes were named to the 2009 Southeastern Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll, Wednesday by SEC Commissioner Mike Slive.
The University of South Carolina topped the list with 114 student-athletes on the spring academic roster. The University of Georgia was next with 99 honorees. The University of Alabama was next in line with 90 student-athletes honored.

They will represent their SCBL team, the Carolina Chaos, on Saturday, July 11 in the All-Star game at Russell C. | SC Sports Source.Com has confirmed that Alshon Jeffery of Calhoun County High School, in St. Matthews, SC has been cleared by the University of South Carolina to attend school this fall. Jeffery is considered by many to be one of, if not the crown jewel of the Gamecocks 2009 recruiting class. As a big play receiver, Jeffery has a chance to see the field early this year for the Gamecocks, as coach Steve Spurrier has been desperately searching for someone to fill Sidney Rice’s shoes since he left. | ||
