• Gamecock Baseball Falls 10-4 To Tennessee In Series Finale

    KNOXVILLE, TENN. – South Carolina raced out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first but Tennessee rallied with a pair of runs in the bottom half of the frame and a six-run sixth inning on the way to a 10-4 victory over the Gamecocks in the rubber game of a three-game series at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.  The Gamecocks fall to 26-19 and 9-12 in the SEC with Tennessee now 18-21 and 7-14 in league play.

    SPARTANBURG, S.C. – In the final game of the weekend series, the Wofford College baseball team built a big lead and held on after a late rally to defeat Samford 12-9 on Sunday afternoon at Russell C. King Field. The Terriers led 11-0 after five innings, but the Bulldogs answered with the next nine runs. Wofford added a run in the bottom of the eighth and Samford had the tying run at the plate in the top of the ninth when a strikeout ended the game.

    ATLANTA, GA. – Georgia Tech hit three two-out singles in the 10th inning to score two runs, capped off by Ryan Peurifoy’s walkoff single, in its 5-4 win over Clemson at Russ Chandler Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets, who won the series 2-1, improved to 26-17 overall and 11-13 in the ACC. The Tigers fell to 23-21 overall and 10-14 in ACC play. Clemson is 8-4 in its last 12 ACC games, as the four losses have been by a combined five runs.
